November is National Family Literacy Month - Celebrate with Us!

At Sing Out and READ, National Literacy Month is a month-long initiative in which we happily participate.

We know that according to the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), two-thirds of children around the country cannot read at grade level. This is an issue – but this month, we have a chance to focus on ways we can protect our children from living in a world where they are illiterate, or are behind in grade level.

Unsure how to participate?
  • Visit the Library.

  • Read with your children as a family.

  • Encourage your children to read for at least 15 minutes a day - or join them!

  • Make storytelling fun! Add props or storytelling materials to your reading routine.

  • Donate: Your donation to Sing Out and READ allows us to meet the needs of children in our community. Even if you do not have children or grandchildren - YOU CAN HELP!
